The Hide is a late night wine bar located up stairs at The Flinders Hotel in Darlinghurst.
Treasured and familiar, The Hide offers patrons the virtues of an old pub, with the vices of a contemporary wine bar. Housed in the beautiful framework of The Flinders Hotel, The Hide provides punters with a reliable hideaway from the hustle and bustle of Darlinghurst. A new late-night venue for locals, The Hide is open Tuesday – Saturday, from 5pm ‘til late.
Kelly Ross, Creative Director of Interiors at The Gentry has reimagined the upstairs bar (formerly The Duke) as an inviting and tactile bar. One-third Gentleman’s Club, two-thirds rock’n’roll lair - leather, velvet and feathers - give the bar a visceral feel.
The Flinders Hotel has quietly built a reputation as a great late night venue in the heart of the Darlinghurst, Surry Hills precinct. With some of Sydney’s best DJ’s moonlighting on the decks downstairs, since taking over ownership in June 2013, Jason Ryan has felt little need to change the formula.
Upstairs The Hide’s compact layout, is serviced by a two man bar and kitchen serving modern share plates. Fine food to share is the philosophy cultivated by consulting Chef Mark Proudfoot. Proudfoot says he has use flavours and textures from around the world to food suited to the intimate and casual space.
The Hide is open 5pm til late Tuesday - Saturday.
